A Franklin County grand jury has indicted two men in connection with a July 7 robbery at the CVS Pharmacy at 4801 W. Broad St. in Prairie Township.

According to a release today, July 20, from the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, Jake Wright III, 19, 2107 Howell Ave., Dayton, and Davion Lyndell Lankford, 21, 3062 Nicholas Road, Dayton, were indicted on multiple counts of aggravated robbery, robbery and aggravated possession of drugs, all with firearm specifications.

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said in the release that one of the men handed a CVS employee a note that said the staff would be shot if they didn’t comply with his demands. The note included a list of medications that were to be placed in a bag.

According to O’Brien, the staff filled numerous bags and the suspect fled with a second person in a 2007 black Chevy Impala.

The car was later found at an address in Dayton, where Dayton police and Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies detained both suspects until a search warrant was obtained.

Shortly afterward, the stolen medications were recovered from the residence there and from the vehicle, O’Brien said.

“The loss to CVS was 4,039 pills and 1,954ml of liquid narcotics,” he said.

Wright and Lankford are scheduled to be arraigned July 25 in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.
