A 26-year-old Dublin man was arrested after initially evading police in a stolen vehicle.

Officers responded at 12:56 a.m. July 7 to the area of South High and West Bridge streets after receiving a report of a "suspicious" vehicle, according to Dublin police department incident reports.

After the driver ran a stop sign, he didn't stop when police attempted to pull him over, according to the report. After trying initially to pursue the vehicle, officers later found it after the driver apparently crashed in a grassy area on the northwest side of the intersection of Dublin and Indian Run roads.

No one was in the vehicle.

Other officers were able to locate the man believed to be the driver, and he reportedly admitted to driving the vehicle and fleeing from the crash before falling into a ravine off Indian Run Road.

The man told police he had the vehicle about five days and got it from another person but declined to name the person.

Police took the man to the Dublin Justice Center for processing and then to the Franklin County Jail.

He was charged with receiving stolen property and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.
