A Westerville woman reported someone attempted to enter her residence in the first block of Hempstead Road on the morning of Aug. 11 while she was inside.

According to reports, the woman called police to her house after she heard someone open her door and she went downstairs to find the door ajar.

She told police she never saw anyone, but believed someone had opened the door, according to reports.

Police found no evidence of forced entry and no one in or around the house.

In other recent incident reports from the Westerville Division of Police:

* A Westerville woman in the 600 block of Hackberry Drive reported someone repeatedly damaged her garage door between Aug. 7 and Aug. 8.

According to reports, the woman called police after she found a "panel" of her garage door knocked out. Reports state police found a partial footprint on the panel, suggesting it was kicked out. The woman told police her garage door has been vandalized multiple times in the last year.

* A Westerville officer discovered a used syringe on the ground while on patrol near the corner of Charring Cross Drive and Wetherby Lane on the afternoon of Aug. 9.
