Delilah Lopez has been named executive director of the German Village Society.

Lopez, 39, is the former director of the Champion of Children program for the United Way of Central Ohio.

The German Village Society board of trustees was expected to make her hiring official at its Sept. 11 meeting.

Lopez, who lives in northwest Columbus, replaces Shiloh Todorov, who spent seven years with the society.

Todorov is expected to continue working for the society for the next several weeks while Lopez becomes acclimated with her new job.

Todorov has said she planned to leave her society position Oct. 10, the date of her hiring seven years ago, but would be willing to leave sooner if her replacement is up to speed on society matters.
