A Columbus man suspected of looking for opportunities to steal items from vehicles was arrested after a foot chase by police.
Upper Arlington officers responded at 7:42 p.m. Aug. 29 to a report that a man was in the area of Dierker and Henderson roads pulling on the handles of parked cars.
When officers arrived, they reported they saw the man and told him to freeze as they approached.
The man then attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was apprehended by officers in the 5000 block of Arlington Centre Boulevard.
Subsequently, the 24-year-old Columbus man was charged with obstruction of official business.

* A 44-year-old Upper Arlington man was charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly throwing items and "engaging in turbulent behavior" at a residence in the 1800 block of Ridgeview Road between 3:21 and 3:27 p.m. Sept. 4.
* Sunglasses valued at $20, five credit cards, personal documents and $5 in cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked outside a residence in the 3300 block of Leighton Road between 7 p.m. Aug. 31 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 1.
* A woman in the 1900 block of West Fifth Avenue reported the unauthorized use of a credit card between Aug. 21 and Aug. 23, resulting in the loss of $1,000.
* A leaf blower valued at $600 was stolen from the bed of a truck owned by a Hilliard landscaping company while the vehicle was parked in the 5200 block of Hampton Lane between 1:30 and 2:10 p.m. Aug. 30.
