Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Morning Walk With the Bison, 8 to 9 a.m. Sept. 23 at the Nature Center. Guests can take a 1-mile hike to see this 2,000-pound mammal.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

Evening Tram Ride, 7 to 8 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Ash Grove Picnic Area. Guests can take a tram ride through the park.

Nature Tram, 3 to 4 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Ash Grove Picnic Shelter. Guests can take a tram ride through the park.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Westerville

Raptor Weekend in the Nature Center, 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 22 and 23. Guests can drop in for a display, craft and scavenger hunt to learn more about Ohio's birds of prey.

Raptor Weekend: Ohio Wildlife Center, 2 to 3 p.m. Sept. 23. Guests can meet live raptors from the Ohio Wildlife Center.

Relaxing Yoga, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24. Guests can participate in an hour of yoga, weather permitting. Participants should bring a towel or mat.

Homeschool: White-Tailed Wonders, 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 25 and 1 to 2 p.m. Sept. 27. Guests can learn about the history and ecology of deer.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center

For Families: Hike to the Giants, 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Oak Coves Picnic Area. Guests can hike 4 miles off-trail to the 300-yard old giant sycamores along the Olentangy River.

Howl at the Moon, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 24. Guests can take a 3.5-mile hike with their dogs, on leash.

Homestead

4675 Cosgray Road, Hilliard

For Adults: Introduction to Native Bee Keeping, 2 to 3 p.m. Sept. 23. Guests ages 16 and older can learn about native pollinators and what people can do to help them.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville

Sunny Sundays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sundays at the Herb Garden. Members of the Herb Society of America, Central Ohio Unit will answer visitors' questions.

Meet the Artist, 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 23. Guests can view the acrylic artwork of Teda Thesis at a reception.

Evening Garden Walk, 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 23. Guests can take a guided stroll through the gardens.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

Late Nights at the Climbing Wall, second and fourth Fridays at the Climbing Wall. The climbing wall will stay open until midnight for Late Nights at the Climbing Wall programs, which will be held through October. There will be four auto belays, but climbers must bring their own climbing harness. Late night fishing also is available from the dock on the Scioto River.

Pre-K Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St. Bring little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.

Birdwatching for Beginners, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests will learn how to use binoculars and search for birds.

Preschool Storytime, 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 20, 22 and 27 at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests can bring their little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.

Weekly Bird Hike, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 22 at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests can take a hike with experienced volunteers to see what can be found in the park. Binoculars and field guides will be available.

Fall Fun Day, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Families of all ages can participate in crafts, games and stories and have snacks to welcome the season. To register, email clark@audubon.org or call 614-545-5478 by Sept. 20.

Learn the Ropes, 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Climbing Wall. Instructors will guide participants through the basics of climbing at the 35-foot wall. All equipment will be provided.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

Go Wild Kids Club: Kindness Rocks, 11 a.m. to noon Sept. 22. Guests can decorate rocks and hide them for someone else to find.

Happy 50th Birthday Sharon Woods, 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 22. Guests can celebrate the park's 50th birthday with cake, nature and history displays.

Fast-Paced Adult Full Moon Hike, 7:45 to 8:45 p.m. Sept. 23. Guests ages 18 and older can take a fast-paced 2.8-mile hike along gravel, paved and natural surface trails.

Happy Tails-n-Trails, 2 to 3 p.m. Sept. 23. Guests can bring a canine companion for a 2-mile hike followed by a dog treat.

Pawpaw Prowl, 4 to 5 p.m. Sept. 23. Guests can take a 1.5-mile walk in the forest to search for Ohio's state native fruit.

Preschoolers: Lucky Ladybugs, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m. Sept. 26 and 27 at Spring Hollow. Children ages 3-5 can explore the world of ladybugs through a story, craft and other activities.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Morning Chores, 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Sept. 22. Visitors ages 5 and older can join the farmer in feeding animals and completing other barnyard chores.

Ropes, Knots and Splices, 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 22. Guests can use the rope-making machine and jump rope to favorite rhymes.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

Homeschoolers: Start a Leaf Collection, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 25. Guests can learn how to identify, classify and preserve tree leaves.
