Guests visiting the third location of Sweet Carrot will feel like they're being entertained.
The newest restaurant, 7571 Sawmill Road in Dublin, will open to the public Tuesday, Nov. 13.
Owner Angela Petro wanted the location to give off the impression that guests were attending a circus, she said. Tables and walls are adorned with designs like admission tickets and animals dressed up like clowns.
In addition, the majority of the refinishing in Sweet Carrot's newest space was done by local artists or companies, Petro said. Tables from the former Columbus Asian restaurant Pei Wei were refurbished and used for the majority of the dining tables, and bench seats were created by a local furniture design studio Edgework Creative, she said.
Customers who stop by the Dublin location will see the same menu as at the other Sweet Carrot restaurants, 1417 W. Fifth Ave. in Columbus, near Grandview Heights, and 2050 Polaris Parkway in Columbus, near Westerville.
The menus comprise of picking a base (corn cake, buttered roll sandwich, macaroni and cheese or salad) and topping it with a protein (beef brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, chicken meatballs or fried artichokes).
The brisket, pork, turkey, onions and tomatoes are smoked on-site, said general manager Sarah Roepke.
Lemonade also is made daily, and three variations of tea are offered from Piper & Leaf Artisan Tea Co., an Alabama-based tea company who made an impression on Sweet Carrot employees during a local market a few years ago, Petro said.
In addition, the restaurant has metal utensils at each table and all scraps of food are composted at each restaurant.
When the store opens next week, the hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
