It’s reunion time, all kinds of reunions, and the Ravenna High School class of 1953 recently held theirs. We met for dinner at Delciello’s Ristorante & Lounge on North Chestnut Street on Sept. 22.

We filled our room with 30 classmates and guests. Hank Trivelli of Stow acted as master of ceremonies. We heard from some former classmates who couldn’t attend but wanted to keep in touch — Tom Gray of Loveland and Donna (Bocanelli) Snyder of California. Pat (Prendergast) Hanusz of Toledo was attending a family wedding. Larry Giovinazzo of Ravenna and Diane (Christman) Sullivan of Brecksville are both doing much better after back surgeries. Frank Adams of Dayton is also recuperating.

As usual, our class had a great time reminiscing about our school days. Some good and some not so good. A raffle was held and Lange Kaupinen, Alan’s son from Virginia, gave it back as seed money for the next reunion. Linda (Holman) Sterling of Hudson and Margaret (McCardel) James of Ravenna won our table arrangements. As we were leaving Delciello’s, we heard wonderful comments about Ravenna 7 movie theater with the lighted arches.

Sunday morning breakfast was held at the English Pub & Bistro and we were joined by additional classmates.

Kenny Kastor of Florida was our photographer. His wife, Karen (Henderson), related her trip to Paris, France, with daughters Kathleen Carr and Ann Louise Greene. Of course, they had a great time. Robert and Kathy Henderson also joined us for breakfast.

We get to do it again in 2020!

Ryann Kuchenbecker of the Ravenna Area Chamber of Commerce and Don Everett are at it again. They are planning on Christmas decorations for the courthouse lawn tree. They would like homemade, weather-proof decorations, if you have any to spare.

These need to be delivered to Joseph Daniels Hair Salon on Main Street by Nov. 16. Decorating will start on Nov. 19. Items can also be dropped off at City Hall.

Have a happy, safe Thanksgiving and remember all you have to be thankful for.
