Whitehall police arrested a 23-year-old man for falsification, obstructing official business, aggravated menacing and criminal damaging at 2:35 p.m. Nov. 11 in the 900 block of Rose Place.

Police responded after a woman called to report an ex-boyfriend was threatening to shoot "everyone there with his gun."

After learning victims had formed a barricade, police set up a perimeter and called for additional officers, reports said.

Four people exited the residence but the suspect stayed inside, according to reports.

After the suspect reportedly ignored commands to exit, SWAT officers launched chemical canisters into the house, and while coughing was audible, the suspect remained inside, police said.

Eventually, SWAT officers forced entry into the house and apprehended the man in the basement, according to reports.

He gave police a different name than his own and refused to answer questions, police said.

* Police reported a robbery at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at Target, 3955 E. Broad St.

A store employee told police a man and woman attempted to steal 67 DVDs and four bags of candy, together worth $1,500.

When security officers confronted the pair, the man reportedly shoved the store employee in the chest and both suspects fled in a car.

Target employees told police the man and woman have stolen merchandise in a similar manner from other stores.

* Police charged an 11-year-old girl with two counts of assault following an incident at 12:40 p.m. Nov. 5 at Beechwood Elementary School, 455 Beechwood Road.

Based on eyewitness accounts and video from a camera on the school playground, police filed charges against the girl for allegedly assaulting 11-year-old and 10-year-old girls, police said.

* Police arrested a 35-year-old woman for burglary at 4:35 p.m. Nov. 13 in the 400 block of South Hamilton Road.

Burglaries also were reported at 4:35 a.m. Nov. 12 in the 800 block of South Hamilton Road; at 8:45 p.m. Nov. 12 in the 600 block of Pierce Avenue; at 4:15 a.m. Nov. 13 in the 3800 block of East Broad Street; at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 13 in the 4200 block of Doney Street; and at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 13 in the 500 block of Heatherhill Road.

* Thefts were reported at 12:10 p.m. Nov. 7 in the 4100 block of Rickenbacker Avenue; at 12:55 p.m. Nov. 7 in the 800 block of Bernhard Avenue; at 1:05 p.m. Nov. 7 in the first block of North Hamilton Road; at 3:35 p.m. Nov. 7 in the 1000 block of South Hamilton Road; at 9:35 a.m. Nov. 9 in the 700 block of South Yearling Road; at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in the 800 block of Erickson Avenue; and at 10:25 a.m. Nov. 12 in the 400 block of Shell Court East.

* Vehicles were reported stolen at 8:05 p.m. Nov. 8 in the first block of Woodcliff Drive; at 5:05 p.m. Nov. 9 in the 4400 block of Poth Road; and at 7:20 p.m. Nov. 9 in the 4600 block of East Main Street.

* Property destruction was reported at 2:25 p.m. Nov. 8 in the 4200 block of East Broad Street; at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 10 in the 100 block of Woodcliff Drive; at 1:20 p.m. Nov. 10 in the 1100 block of South Hamilton Road; at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 12 in the 4800 block of Langley Avenue; and at 9:55 a.m. Nov. 13 in the 400 block of North Hamilton Road.

* A 25-year-old woman was arrested for discharging firearms at 8:35 p.m. Nov. 13 in the 100 block of North Hamilton Road.

Police also responded to reports of shots fired at 6:20 p.m. Nov. 9 at East Main and Center streets; and at 7:05 p.m. Nov. 9 at East Main Street and South Yearling Road.
