What was recently thought to be the sound of gunfire at a local middle school turned out to be fireworks.

A caller told police she heard a sound like gunfire coming from Gahanna Middle School East, 730 Clotts Road, according to a report received at 10:01 p.m. Nov. 10. Her husband, however, reported he could see things being shot off.

The noise was fireworks, according to reports.

* Two employees at a business in the 5400 block of Morse Road were involved in a fight, according to a report received at 12:37 p.m. Nov. 13. One party left and went home, and the other party went to an urgent care facility for an injured lip, reports said.

* Lawn equipment was stolen from Parkedge Drive, according to a report filed at 4:46 p.m. Nov. 12.

* Change was stolen from two vehicles on Sydney Glen Court, according to a report filed at 2:45 p.m. Nov. 12.

* An employee of a business on Research Road reported a hole was drilled into the gasoline tank of a company truck and gas was taken from the vehicle, according to a report received at 2:12 p.m. Nov. 12.

* An unidentified person shot out the window of a truck on Broken Arrow Drive, according to a report received at 1:01 p.m. Nov. 11.

* A Dunoon Drive resident told police someone broke in and stole her birth certificate, according to a report received at 6:19 a.m. Nov. 11.

* A vehicle was rummaged through on Aroya Court, according to a report received at 3:22 a.m. Nov. 11. A vehicle also was rummaged through on Fouts Court, according to a report received at 3:35 a.m. Nov. 11.

* A Taurus Avenue resident told police someone drove through his yard and struck his mailbox, according to a report received at 2:16 p.m. Nov. 9. He has parts of the suspect's vehicle in his garage, reports said.

* An employee of a business in the 1200 block of North Hamilton Road received three counterfeit $100 bills on Nov. 5, according to a report received at 10:20 a.m. Nov. 9.

* An employee at a business in the 800 block of North Hamilton Road advised police a customer has been sending money to an address for a sweepstakes and is possibly getting scammed, according to a report received at 11:03 a.m. Nov. 8.

* A female was heard screaming "help" and "get out" and banging noises were heard at a Cherry Bottom Road residence, according to a complaint received at 8:42 p.m. Nov. 7. A raccoon was in a chicken coop, reports said.

* Jewelry was stolen from a Brookhill Drive residence, according to a report received at 1:54 p.m. Nov. 7. The resident visited police headquarters to report the theft.
