Eric Ryan has decided to step down as athletics director at Hilliard Bradley High School and Memorial Middle School at the end of the school year.

Ryan said the reasons for his decision are to spend more time with his family, get back into the classroom and return to coaching.

“You’re away a lot with this job,” said Ryan, who is in his third year as athletics director. “I wanted to get back to my family, coaching and teaching.”

Ryan, 44, is a 1991 Hilliard graduate who competed in football and wrestling and a 1995 Ohio University graduate. He served as assistant athletics director at Bradley in the 2013-14 school year before being elevated to athletics director.

Ryan has teaching certificates in integrated sciences and technology for grades 7-12 and has been an assistant wrestling coach.

He and his wife, Kelly, have two daughters — Tyler, a 2016 Grove City graduate, and Ally, a junior at Grove City.

Applicants should send a cover letter and resume to jobs@hboe.org with “Athletic Director — Bradley High School/Memorial Middle School” in the subject line. Resumes will be accepted through Feb. 28.
