Olentangy Orange High School senior Anna Watson set the state record in the girls pole vault during the Division I, district 2 meet May 16 at Hilliard Darby.

Watson, the defending state champion, cleared 13 feet, 6 1/4 inches. The Indiana University signee broke the record of North Royalton’s Kristen Denk, who cleared 13-6 in 2015.

Watson cleared 13-4 to win last season’s state title. With her district championship, she advanced to the regional meet May 24 and 26 at Pickerington North.
