Steve Palmer has resigned after four seasons as Big Walnut High School girls basketball coach.

Palmer compiled a 49-44 record with the Golden Eagles. Last season, they finished 15-9 overall and 5-5 in the OCC-Capital and reached a district semifinal for the first time since the 2009-09 season.

Big Walnut finished 14-9 in 2013-14, 12-11 in 2014-15 and 8-15 in 2015-16 in Palmer’s first three seasons.

“We were fortunate to have coach Palmer as the head coach of our girls basketball program for the last four years,” athletics director Brian Shelton said. “Coach Palmer was thankful for the friendships and support. We are excited coach Palmer will remain the head coach of our up-and-coming girls lacrosse program and continue working as an educational aide at Big Walnut.”
