Cael Baker of the Gahanna Lincoln High School baseball team has been named Division I state Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

The senior catcher has committed to play for the University of Cincinnati.

Other area players to make first-team all-state in Division I were Tyler Brown of Olentangy Orange, Hayden Cartt of Grove City, Trenton Gillison of Pickerington Central and Brandon Horsley of Upper Arlington.

Matt Walters of Pickerington Central made second-team all-state, and Nick Erwin (Grove City), A.J. Peter (Grove City) and Michael Ross (Marysville) made honorable mention.

In Division II, Will Davis (Watterson), Preston Eisnaugle (Jonathan Alder), Jake Ruby (Hartley) and Joey Velazquez (DeSales) were named first-team all-state, and Matt Dockman (Watterson), Greg Gilbert (DeSales), Nathan Meyer (Watterson) and Jake Peterson (Granville) made second team.
