After it lost its first three games in 2016, the Harvest Prep football team won its final seven of the regular season to earn the No. 7 seed for the Division VII, Region 27 playoffs and then made it to a state semifinal.

The Warriors already are on a much better track this season.

On Friday, Sept. 8, Harvest Prep will close its non-league schedule at Mifflin in a matchup of teams that are off to 2-0 starts.

The Warriors avenged 2016 losses in their first two games, beating Bexley 30-0 on Aug. 25 and Franklin Heights 44-14 on Sept. 1, and will play the Punchers for the first time.

Mifflin is a Division II, Region 7 team that opened with wins over Columbus West (38-26 on Aug. 25) and Westland (27-21 on Sept.1).

In Harvest Prep’s win over Bexley, running back Daniel Bangura rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns, had a touchdown reception and threw for one score. He topped that performance by rushing for 470 yards and five touchdowns and adding 28 receiving yards against Franklin Heights.

For Mifflin against West, quarterback Daveonn Logan threw for 312 yards and four touchdowns.
