Pat Shick recently stepped down as Olentangy High School boys soccer coach, ending a four-year tenure in which he guided the Braves to at least a Division I district semifinal three times.

Shick, a 2004 Olentangy graduate, went 31-32-10 overall.

The Braves were 11-4-5 overall and 1-1-3 in the OCC-Buckeye Division this year, losing to Dublin Jerome 1-0 in a district final Oct. 28 at Westerville South.

Olentangy also reached district semifinals in 2014 and 2015.

“I decided to call it quits. My wife and I decided it was time to start focusing on our family,” said Shick, whose wife, Kimmie, is expecting their first child. “Plus, I have been involved in soccer for the last nine years coaching and then who knows how many playing, so I am looking forward to enjoying the fall a little more.”

Shick played for Otterbein from 2004-07 then coached the Ohio State women’s club team from 2009-11. He was a graduate assistant for the Otterbein men’s team in 2012 and 2013 before coming to Olentangy.
