Thomas Worthington High School is seeking coaches in softball, girls volleyball and girls golf.
Craig Andersen stepped down after just one season as softball coach. The Cardinals went 0-18 overall, including 0-12 in the OCC-Cardinal Division, last spring.
“I think (Andersen) stepped down in hopes that more girls would be interested in preseason training,” athletics director Jen Goebbel said. “He was disappointed with the attendance in conditioning.”
Emily Oren resigned after two seasons as girls volleyball coach because she is expecting her first child in August, Goebbel said. The Cardinals went 17-29 under Oren, including 9-14 overall and 2-10 in the OCC-Cardinal last fall.
The Cardinals are expecting to return eight letterwinners, including a second-team all-league honoree in junior Layne Keegan.
Mike Crotty spent four years as girls golf coach and stepped down following a season in which the Cardinals went 2-26 in the OCC-Cardinal tournament. Thomas had five golfers on its roster last fall, including one senior in Caitlin McWilliams.
“The girls golf team was low in numbers and (Crotty) is hoping someone can step in and generate more interest among potential golfers,” Goebbel said.
