Worthington Christian High School senior bowler Seth Parsell found his groove during his second game in the boys Division II state tournament March 2 at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl.

After rolling a 154 in his opening game, Parsell followed with games of 203 and 205 for a 562 series to tie for 27th.

“The lanes were drying out and I started hitting my mark more, so I had more hook and it got in the pocket,” Parsell said. “It’s a little below my average, but I’ll take it.”

Parsell was one of three bowlers from the Central District to compete at state after qualifying as individuals. The others were Centerburg senior Colton Hogg, who tied for 65th (482), and Marion Pleasant junior Bobby Davis, who took 76th (455).

Parsell placed 70th (540) at state as a sophomore when Worthington Christian qualified as a team.

“He had a little trouble early on (March 2), but really came through as the games went on,” Warriors coach Dave Krebs said.

Also from the Central District, Licking Valley senior Jarrett Strait finished 10th (612) to earn second-team all-state honors and Jonathan Alder sophomore Luke Honigford placed 13th (597) to make honorable mention all-state.
