Sophomore Lyssi Snouffer and freshman Erin Bauslaugh of the Delaware Christian School girls track and field team competed in the Division III regional meet held May 23 and 25 at Fairfield Union.

The top four finishers in each regional event qualified for the state meet Friday, June 1, and Saturday, June 2, at Ohio State.

Snouffer tied for third in the high jump at state a year ago by clearing 5 feet, 7 inches.

In the district 2 meet that concluded May 19 at Watkins Memorial, she won both the high jump (5-4) and long jump (16-8) and Bauslaugh placed fourth in the long jump (16-0), as the top four finishers in each event advanced to regional.

Bauslaugh also finished sixth in the 100 meters (13.68 seconds).

The Eagles, who have five girls on their team, scored 28 points at district to finish eighth of 13 teams, behind champion Mount Gilead (164).

The boys team, which has just four athletes on its roster, did not have any regional qualifiers and failed to score in the 13-team district 2 meet.
