Samantha Arey has been hired as lacrosse coach at Columbus School for Girls.

Arey had been an assistant coach at New Albany since graduating in 2016 from Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina. The Eagles were state runners-up in Division I this past season, losing to Upper Arlington 11-5 on June 2 at Ohio Wesleyan.

Arey is a 2011 graduate of New Albany and played on Division II state championship teams in 2008 and 2009.

She replaces Kellen Morrissey, who stepped down after four seasons in which the Unicorns went 42-32. After going 5-11 in her first season, CSG went 37-21 over the next three, including 13-7 overall this spring.

CSG went 1-2 in the CCL to place third behind champion DeSales (3-0) and 3-4 in the Central Independent League to finish fifth behind the champion Stallions (7-0).

Arey also will be an assistant with the CSG field hockey program.
