During The Beat's visit to our Pittsburgh hometown last week/weekend, we took in a seasonal concert called Trombones on Ice. (It was cool but perhaps not as cool as its name would indicate. By which we mean, no one actually played trombone and skated at the same time.) Our brother was one of the approximately 100 trombonists who played holiday tunes in the courtyard of a downtown skyscraper complex.
It reminded us of Columbus' longtime tradition of Merry Tuba Christmas, which this year will be held Monday, Dec. 21, at Capital University's Mees Hall. Go here and scroll down for details on playing or just listening.
