Coming off a 34-9 loss to Upper Arlington a week earlier, the Worthington Kilbourne High School football team got back on the winning track Friday with a 45-17 victory over Westland.

The Wolves improved to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the OCC-Central Division, and the Cougars fell to 1-5 and 0-3.

Aaron Kingcade rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead the Wolves, who will play Friday at Hilliard Davidson. The Wildcats improved to 6-0 and 3-0 with a 38-0 victory over Central Crossing.

Mike Johnson rushed for 70 yards on seven attempts, including a 4-yard touchdown run to open the scoring in the first quarter.

The Cougars, who had four turnovers, closed to 14-7 on a 41-yard pass from Jared South to Mike Hines. The next time the two hooked up on a 9-yard play, the Cougars trailed 38-17.

South finished 14 of 21 for 169 yards and an interception. Kingcade completed all four of his passes for 79 yards with the bulk of the yardage coming on a 55-yard scoring pass to Alan Tobey.

Westland returns to action Friday at home against Thomas Worthington, which fell to 0-6 and 0-3 with a 49-6 loss to Dublin Coffman.
