Opponents throughout the season have learned the hard way that they can't focus on one player when it comes to defending the potent offensive attack of the Upper Arlington High School girls soccer team.

Four players scored goals Wednesday as the Golden Bears routed Dresden Tri-Valley 4-0 in a Division I regional semifinal at Zanesville.

"I think we were prepared to play, and I think we created a large number of opportunities," said coach Bob McGee, whose team improved to 18-1-1. "They were trying to mark down (freshman forward Michela Paradiso), and
that just opened up the flood gates for other kids to step up."

The win puts UA in the regional final against Hilliard Davidson at 12 p.m. Saturday at Dublin Scioto.

Davidson improved to 15-1-3 with 2-1 victory over Watterson in the other semifinal Wednesday.

The Golden Bears' only loss was 2-1 to host Davidson on Sept. 30 in a game that decided the OCC-Central Division championship.

"It's kind of exciting to have two teams left in the same league in the OCC," McGee said. "It gives us a lot to work for, and it should make for an exciting game."

Against Tri-Valley, UA led 3-0 at halftime after scoring two goals in the final eight minutes.

Lara Ross put the ball in play on a corner kick, and Julia Pizzuti scored on a header with 28 seconds left in the half.

Paradiso, Abbey Ginn and Corrine Wulf scored the other goals, and Clara Kridler finished with four saves.
