The South all-star team got a big performance from Westerville South High School senior football player Jayshon Jackson on the way to beating the North 25-7 in the 66th-annual Ohio North-South All-Star Classic on April 22 in Ohio Stadium.

Cincinnati Colerain's Tyler Williams was named the game's MVP after rushing for two touchdowns, but the all-around performance of Jackson also was crucial to the South victory.

Jackson was named the South's Offensive MVP after rushing 13 times for 115 yards and one touchdown. After scoring on a 25-yard run with 1 minute, 14 seconds left in the third quarter, Jackson completed a two-point conversion pass to Westerville Central's Nick Vannett to make it 22-7.

Jackson will play for Grand Rapids Community College next fall but said he'll likely be bound for Michigan State sometime over the next two years. Vannett is an Ohio State-signee at tight end.

"It's a better feeling every time I come here," said Jackson, who played his third game in Ohio Stadium. "It's the best of the best in an all-star competition."

It was the second consecutive win for the South in the all-time series, which the North leads 38-25-3.

Watterson's Hunter Maynard, a Bowling Green-signee, was named the South's Defensive MVP after finishing with one sack and three tackles.

Massillon Washington wide receiver Devin Smith, who also is Ohio State-bound, was named the North's Offensive MVP. Salem's Trent Toothman, a Ball State-signee, was the North's Defensive MVP.
