* Morning Coffee and Wildlife Watch, 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Nature Center. View wildlife through the windows and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

* Audubon Bird Hike, 8 a.m. Sunday at the Nature Center. Join Audubon Society members and search for summer birds.

Glacier Ridge Metro Park

9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City

* Grassland Birds, 9 a.m. Saturday at the bulletin board at the main entrance picnic area. Search for birds during a 2.5-mile hike.

* Tram & Sun, 2 p.m. Saturday at the bulletin board at the main entrance picnic area. Use a special solar telescope to view the sun and then take a 40-minute tram ride.

* Metro Five-0: Cavity Nests, 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, at the bulletin board at the main entrance picnic area. Take a tram ride and learn about bluebirds and other cavity nesting birds. For ages 50 and older.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. 23 N., Lewis Center

* Sing-Along Campfire, 8 p.m. Friday at the Dragonfly Day Camp. Roast marshmallows and enjoy songs and stories around the campfire. Bring seating and a drink. Roasting sticks and snacks provided.

* Stream Quality Monitoring Volunteer Workshop, 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Big Meadows Picnic Area. Learn how to become a volunteer for the Ohio Division of Watercraft's Scenic Rivers Program.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 Hempstead Road, Westerville

* Sunny Sundays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Herb Garden. Members of the Herb Society of America Central Ohio Unit will be available to answer questions.

* Designing a Garden for Year-Round Pleasure, 2 p.m. Sunday at the Innis House. The annual meeting of the Inniswood Garden Society features Erica Glaser, former host of HGTV's A Gardener's Diary. Learn how to create dynamic plant combinations using scale, architecture, water and fragrance. Open to the public.

Pickerington Ponds Metro Park

7680 Wright Road, Canal Winchester

* Preschoolers: Swamp Things, 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Glacier Knoll Picnic Area. Learn about creatures that make their homes in the wetlands.

Prairie Oaks Metro Park

* Just for Kids: Fishing, 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Darby Bend Lakes. Kids age 16 and younger can try their hand at fishing the lake. Limited poles and bait available.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

* Fun to the Midnight Hour, 9 p.m. to midnight Friday. The climbing wall and dog park will remain open, as well as the fishing dock on the Scioto River.

Slate Run Metro Park

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

* Pioneer Toys, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Buzzard's Roost Picnic Area. Play with old-fashioned wood and metal toys from another age.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

* Make Hay While the Sun Shines, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Help the farmhands and horses make hay. If it's wet, help bale hay in the barn.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

* Creek Exploring: Big Walnut Creek, 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Confluence Trails bulletin board. Use nets, buckets and scoops to uncover macro-invertibrates and other critters in the creek.
