* Snowtales, 1 p.m. Sunday at the Ranger Station. During a two-mile hike, look for signs of how animals survive winter.

* Preschoolers: Those Wacky Woodpeckers, 9:30 or 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Nature Center. Learn about Ohio's woodpeckers and their strange habits.

* Scavengers, 4 p.m. Friday at the Nature Center. Learn about animal scavengers and the important role they play. Try to spot them on a 2-mile walk.

* Animal Tracks, 3 p.m. Saturday at the Golf Course Activity Building. Search for animal tracks and signs of wildlife on a 1.5-mile walk.

* Preschoolers: The Beech Tree Puppets Exchange Valentines, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Wednesday at Beech Maple Lodge. Join the puppets as they explore the meaning of Valentine's Day and make a valentine for someone special.

* Lens and Leaves Camera Club, 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at Beech Maple Lodge. See member photos and learn photographic techniques.

* 43rd Annual Winter Hike Series, 10 a.m. Saturday at Cherry Ridge Program Area. Take a 2-, 4- or 6-mile hike through the forests and fields.

* Bird Hike, 9 a.m. Sunday at the Nature Center. Visit Thoreau Lake and view waterfowl.

* Natural Play Area: Winter Scavenger Hunt, 2 p.m. Sunday at Natural Play Area at Cherry Ridge Picnic Area. Look for items in the snow, dirt, leaves and creek.

* Raptor Hike, 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Main Picnic Area Bulletin Board. Search for owls and hawks on a 1.5-mile hike. Age 10 and older.

* Sanity Saver, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Nature Center. Enjoy a scavenger hunt, crafts, activities and watch a few Wild Kratt adventures.

* Annual Quilt Show, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, and Friday; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Innis House. View the 30th exhibit of quilts produced by members of the Columbus Metropolitan Quilters. Members will be available to answer questions on Saturday and Sunday.

* Winter Tree ID: Silhouettes and Branches, 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Gardens Entrance. Learn how to identify trees focusing on characteristics of tree shape and form.

* Five Senses Walk, 2 p.m. Sunday at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Use all of your senses to explore the winter world on an easy 1-mile walk.
