The Bexley Music Parents are seeking nominations for the 2011 Friend of Music Award.

The award honors outstanding volunteer efforts on behalf of the district's music program.

To be eligible for the award, a nominee must be at least 21 years of age and a current or former active participant in the school district's music program. Any person who meets the criteria who has donated time and talent to help the music program by fundraising, coaching, making financial contributions, offering creative leadership and delivering professional services may be nominated.

Criteria for consideration include the number of years a nominee has volunteered, the type and variety of activities, leadership roles and personal impact on the school district. Current officers of the Bexley Music Parents board are ineligible.

The honoree will be announced at the Bexley Music Parents "Jazz It Up" spring gala April 2 in the Schneider Lounge at the Capital University Harry C. Moores Campus Center on Pleasant Ridge Avenue. Pre-event tickets are $25 and available by contacting Bev Darwin at 253-8368.

The Bexley Charter Review Commission will be presenting its report to city council at a special meeting March 1.

The meeting is set for 6 p.m. in council chambers on the second floor of city hall at 2242 E. Main St.. All recommendations by the Charter Review Commission for changes or additions to the current charter will be discussed. This is a public meeting and all residents are welcome.

Because of spring break, regular Bexley City Council meetings will be held on Tuesdays March 8 and March 15.
