The Ohio Art Education Association (OAEA), a professional organization of art teachers, recently announced that the art works of Montrose students Jordan Holt (fourth grade), Tommy Webster (first grade) and Kaia Woodford (third grade) are included in the 2011 OAEA Central Region Art Exhibition.

The exhibition is composed of work by art students in grades K-8 attending school in Ohio's central region. The work is being exhibited at the Columbus Metropolitan Public Library, Main Branch at 96 S. Grant Ave. in Columbus, through May 7.

Holt's "Dala Horse Still Life" collage, along with Webster's "The Color Zoo" collage and Woodford's colored pencil and felt tip "Paisley Composition" were among some 90 pieces selected for the juried show from thirteen central Ohio counties.

OAEA member and Montrose art specialist Becky Liefeld submitted the Bexley students' work for consideration.

The exhibition is open Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays 1 to 5 p.m.

A reception and awards ceremony for the young artists, their families, and teachers will be held at the library on Saturday, May 7, at 1 p.m.
