Area walkers and runners can test their lungs to raise money for lung cancer research during the second annual LUNGevity 5K Walk and Run, to be held Saturday, Nov. 12, at North Bank Park, 311 W. Long St.

Area walkers and runners can test their lungs to raise money for lung cancer research during the second annual LUNGevity 5K Walk and Run, to be held Saturday, Nov. 12, at North Bank Park, 311 W. Long St.

The event is being held in the memory of photographer Frank Learner. Registration begins at 11 a.m. The timed 5K run begins at noon, and untimed 5K and 1K walks will begin at 1 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit lung cancer research.

A separate balloon launch will benefit the Mary Anne Kirkby Living with Lung Cancer Fund at Ohio State's James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
