Bexley City Schools sixth-grade classes will move from the district's three elementary schools to Bexley Middle School beginning in the 2017-18 school year.

The board on April 11 voted 4-1 to approve a resolution to move forward with the plan.

The plan will include the formation of an implementation and advisory committee to include parents, students faculty from each of the elementary schools and the middle school to work with the district administration on how to proceed.

Board member Mike Denison, who cast the lone dissenting vote, suggested the advisory committee and said his dissent was because of the lack of input and the absence of a formal study.
