SOCIAL SECURITY & MEDICARE 101

Have questions on retirement options, Social Security or Medicare answered by Darren Lutz of the Social Security Administration and Rebecca Hayward of the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in the Quiet Reading Room. Learn about eligibility requirements, how to determine a retirement date and online resources for benefit filing, plus Medicare options and benefits.

DRONES, DOMESTIC SURVEILLANCE

Gary Daniels, chief lobbyist of the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio, will take a look at the current state of privacy in Ohio from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 28. The discussion will include how residents can preserve civil liberties during an era of rapid technological innovation and growth.

KONMARI METHOD ROUNDTABLE

A roundtable discussion of the KonMari Method, a method of tidying up that is gaining popularity nationwide, will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30.

Attendees can share their experiences with the method while the group discusses the book and how the method can change the way a person cleans and organizes his or her residence.

THE BEXLEY ARBORETUM

Larry Helman, of the Bexley Arboretum Committee, in partnership with the South Bexley Neighborhood Association, will celebrate Arbor Day weekend by teaching about the trees of Bexley from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 30.

Participants will meet at the library and then move outside for a walking tour of area trees.

PREPARE FOR SPRING RIDING WITH ROLL:

Bike experts from roll: at 2468 E. Main St., Bexley, will be in front of the library from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 1. A mechanic will perform small bike adjustments and flat repairs.

NEW PLAY SPACE PARTY

Thanks to a gift from Bexley High School's class of 1965, the library is renovating its play space. A special story time and unveiling of the new and improved play space will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 2.

COMIC BOOK DAY

From 3:30 to 5 p.m. May 6, the library will provide materials and advice for making original comics, highlight its collection of comics and graphic novels and tell where patrons can go to get free comic books on May 7, free comic book day.

Bring in comics to show off or swap books with other collectors. Open to ages 10 and older.

ASIAN RESTAURANTS IN COLUMBUS

In connection with Asian History Month, Bethia Woolf of Columbus Food Adventures will discuss Asian restaurants in Columbus from 7 to 8 p.m. May 10.
