The Columbus School for Girls track and field team scored 112 points to finish second in the CCL meet May 16 and 18 at home behind DeSales (114) and ahead of Watterson (105), Hartley (102) and Ready (55).

Erika Sims won the long jump (15 feet, 9 inches) and Emma Harris finished second in the 1,600 meters (5 minutes, 30 seconds) and 800 (2:26).

Also finishing second were Rebecca O'Donovan in the shot put (33-3 3/4), Eleanor Smith, Alyssa Sugar, Abigail Perrini and Harris in the 3,200 relay (10:05.1), Smith, Isabella Pesavento, Sabrina Ebner and Harris in the 1,600 relay (4:07.4), Ebner, Pesavento, Mo Ruff and O'Donovan in the 400 relay (51.2), Perrini in the 3,200 (12:39.3) and Smith in the 400 (59.2).

The Unicorns are competing in the Division II, district 2 meet, which began May 21, continued May 22 and concludes Saturday, May 25, at Westerville South. The top four finishers in each event advance to the regional May 30 and June 1 at Welcome Stadium in Dayton.

Last year, CSG placed fifth (36) at regional behind champion Dayton Chaminade Julienne (64) as 44 teams scored.

Harris won the 800 (2:18.94) and Cecilia Pesavento finished fourth in the 100 hurdles (15.79). Finishing second were 2012 graduate Sophie Chatas in the 1,600 (5:10.17) and Harris, 2012 graduate Rosie Connor, Perrini and Chatas in the 3,200 relay (9:41.26).

Lacrosse squadloses tourney opener

The lacrosse team lost at Bexley 13-11 in its Division II South/Central Region tournament opener May 14 to finish 6-9.

Midfielder Sophia Sugar scored four goals, attacker Claudia Hummel scored three, midfielders Avery Hinson and Erin Balasky each scored two and goalkeeper Erin Smith had five saves.
