Residents receive Cambridge Home Health Care awards

Canal Winchester residents Parish Jenkins and Brenda Lunceford recently received Cambridge Home Health Care awards for demonstrating outstanding patient care and commitment to excellence.

Jenkins was named "Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year" and Lunceford was named "Home Health Aide of the Year." The awards were presented at an Oct. 28 luncheon held in Akron.

Jenkins has been employed by Cambridge for 16 months and is a graduate of the Columbus Public School of Practical Nursing program.

Lunceford has worked for Cambridge for six years, and has been an aide for more than 35 years. This is the fifth year Lunceford has received the award.

DSCC employee named Associate of the Month

Canal Winchester resident Dan Sommer has been named the Defense Supply Center Columbus Associate of the Month.

Sommer supervises a team in the maritime supplier operations directorate that supports the Navy's nuclear reactor program.

He was recognized for his efforts to reduce back orders and also for his continuing work to improve support the Navy's Landing Craft Air Cushion program.

He was also commended for his willingness to work with others to resolve issues and mentor other associates.

Sommer has worked for DSCC for three years. He is a graduate of Groveport High School and has an associate degree in organizational leadership and a bachelor's degree in business administration, both from Franklin University.
