Lithopolis will hold its second annual Pet Parade in conjunction with the Wagnall's Memorial open house and Simply Christmas events on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Costumed participants and their owners should gather in the rear parking lot of the Wagnall's Memorial grounds for the 2 p.m. parade down Columbus Street to the Wilson Park Gazebo.

Santa will lead the parade and will be available for free photos with pets afterwards.

Residents invited to enter contest

Residents are invited to enter the third annual gingerbread house contest, a Christmas in the Village tradition.

All gingerbread houses must be homemade (no kits). Entries will be divided into two contest categories by age groups: ages 12 and younger and 13 and older.

Entries may be dropped off at the Harvest Moon Coffee House from 8 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. Judging will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.

The winner in each age group will receive a prize. Entrants who wish to keep their gingerbread houses may pick them up on Sunday, Dec. 6, or Monday, Dec. 7.
