U.S. Army National Guard Pfc. Jacob L. Conner and U.S. Army National Guard Pvt. Mason D. Michael have graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Jackson, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldiers studied the received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Conner is the son of Penny M. Davidson of Lithopolis and Trey L. Conner of Florida. Michael is the son of Chris D. Michael of Canal Winchester,.

Both are 2015 graduates of Canal Winchester High School.
