Court Appointed Special Advocates of Franklin County is seeking volunteers, especially male volunteers, to advocate for local children in the foster care system.

The organization hopes to serve about 830 children in 2016, and about 50 percent of those will be boys. Volunteers will be trained and appointed guardians ad litem for children moving through the child protection system. They will be asked to give about five hours per month.

The next training class will begin Oct. 10.
