Band, choir plan
holiday concert
The Clintonville Community Band and Community Choir will present a concert of holiday music at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, in the Whetstone High School auditorium, 4405 Scenic Drive.

A variety of music will be performed, including favorites such as "Sleigh Ride" and a sing-along to the Hallelujah Chorus from "The Messiah."

Cabot Rea will serve as the master of ceremonies for the event. Colors will be presented by Lima Company, 25th Marines, 3rd Marine Division.

Proceeds from a freewill offering and donations of non-perishable food items will benefit the Clintonville-Beechwold Resource Center.
Refreshments from Mozart's Cafe and Bakery will be available.

The band performs under the direction of Richard Burkart, and the choir is directed by Tom Maxwell.

Rail museum to host
holiday activities
The Depot Rail Museum, 921 Old Henderson Road, presents its annual "Holiday Golden Spike Celebration" from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6.

The Depot Rail Museum teams up with Toys for Tots and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for the annual Christmas community open house. Admission is free with a new unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. No stuffed animals can be accepted.

The museum features restored rail cars decorated for the season and offers visitors a chance to ride on the Scioto Valley Railroad North Pole Express through a winter wonderland of holiday displays for only $2 per ride. In addition, Santa Claus will be on hand and a Santa's Mailbox will accept children's letter to Santa.
