Mozart's Bakery and Piano Cafe and nearby Vienna Ice Cafe will be hosting a fundraiser for the Clintonville Beechwold Community Resources Center's "Back to School 2011 Campaign."

The event at both venues, 2885 and 2899 N. High St., will run from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4.

"Costs for school supplies have risen drastically along with everything else, and more and more schools are finding it necessary to ask students and parents to foot the bill for activities and uniforms in addition to the needed school supplies," according to CRC spokeswoman Joni Lovett-Schlagenhauf. "This is the perfect opportunity for you to have fun, contribute to a good cause and check out a delectable dessert or scrumptious ice cream treat to beat the heat while helping a very worthy cause."

For $5 participants may enjoy their choice of two large scoops of ice cream or a small sundae at Vienna Ice Cafe.

At Mozart's Bakery and Piano Cafe, $5 entitles patrons to a dessert item and coffee, hot or iced.

All proceeds will benefit Back to School Campaign.

"During the event, Vienna Ice Cafe will collect backpacks in addition to your regular donation so kids will have something to carry all those new supplies in," Lovett-Schlagenhauf wrote in announcing the dual event. "So come on down and join your friends and neighbors for an irresistible treat and a fun time."
