Proceeds from an Aug. 2 National Night Out event will benefit the Clintonville Beechwold Community Resources Center.

Activities will be held in the parking lot of Weiland's Gourmet Market, 3600 Indianola Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m.


Scheduled activities will include a live acoustic music set with Willie Phoenix, free food from Weiland's and Mozart's, along with Pepsi and Coke; games and crafts; face-painting; a raffle for a gas grill and six refills from the Gas House; a raffle of toys donated by Target; a bicycle raffle; firefighters and fire engineers from Station 19; McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog; Columbus Division of Police officers and cruisers; airbrushing by Sugar Ray; candy making by Colonial Candy Shoppe employees; "Kindermusik," music and movement for children up to age 7; a Target pharmacist analyzing medications for drug interaction and safety; and pets for children to play with from Pets Without Parents.


The event is sponsored by Target, Weiland's, Mozart's Bakery and Piano Cafe, Colonial Candy Shoppe, Groovy Spoon, Pepsi, Coke and the Gas House.
