The Clintonville Rotary Club will host its sixth annual Christmas tree lighting from 6 to 7 p.m. Dec. 21 at the shelter house at the Park of Roses.

Refreshments and cookies will be provided, with coffee and hot chocolate by Crimson Cup. The Bishop Watterson High School show choir will perform.

The event also will feature an area where children can enjoy treats and crafts.

In addition, Santa Claus will appear to chat with children and pose for photos.

Families may bring a book to the shelter house to donate to the Rotary Club's Island Book Initiative, which provides books and library content for Caribbean Island schools in need.
