Three men, one from Columbus and the other two from Massachusetts, reported the Hibbert Avenue house in which they were staying had been burglarized at 12:45 p.m. Dec. 31.

The victims, who lost $1,235 worth of clothing, backpacks, a computer and a cellphone, told Columbus police the break-in took place after 11 a.m. the previous day.

In other recent Clintonville-area police reports:

* A Highfield Drive residence was broken into between 4:15 and 9:35 p.m. Jan. 2. The two victims reported credit cards, a checkbook, keys and camera equipment valued at $630 had been stolen.

Another Highfield Drive residence was burglarized between 6 p.m. Dec. 31 and 12:30 a.m. Jan. 1. The victim said two televisions, together worth $600, and video-game console valued at $500 had been removed.

* A purse containing a $30 wallet, several credit cards and $10 in cash was taken from a vehicle parked on Graceland Boulevard, a couple reported at 6:25 p.m. Jan. 1. The victims said someone broke the front passenger window of the car between 4:45 and 5:40 p.m. that day.

* Someone defaced the sign at Starbucks, 3580 N. High St., according to a report filed at 12:16 p.m. Dec. 27. An employee said someone placed a decal "mocking Starbucks Coffee brand" on a sign 6 feet off the ground. The vandalism took place between 3:05 p.m. Dec. 25 and 5 a.m. the next day.
