A business in the 5300 block of North High Street was the victim of fraud, according to a report filed at 3:24 a.m. May 4 with Columbus police.

A business in the 5300 block of North High Street was the victim of fraud, according to a report filed at 3:24 a.m. May 4 with Columbus police.

An official with the business said a man bought $558 worth of products April 26, during the course of which he "falsely represented that he was a member of a company and thus had the amount charged on that company's tab," reports said.

In other recent Clintonville-area police reports:

* A man told an officer at 8 a.m. May 3 that someone took his wallet earlier that morning when he inadvertently left it on the counter of a business in the 2600 block of North High Street.

The victim said the $10 wallet contained two credit cards, his Social Security card and a work ID.

* A business in the 4400 block of North High Street was burglarized between 5:59 and 8:38 a.m. May 3 by someone who smashed out a glass pane in a rear service door.

The burglar made off with $50 in cash and $5 worth of change, according to police reports.
