The Clintonville Farmers Market will host a concert by local musicians the Ransom Band during its third annual benefit event Thursday, Sept. 1

The fundraiser will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at India Oak Bar and Grill, 590 Oakland Park Ave.

Proceeds will go toward the To Market, To Market program, now in its fourth year, which provides $50 market vouchers to low-income senior clients of the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center.

"Fifty dollars can make a big difference at the market, and the seniors who have participated in the past really enjoy the social aspects of the trips," Manager Michelle White said in a statement. "This program is unique to our market and keeps growing."

In addition to music, the evening will include a 50-50 raffle, T-shirt sales and specials on several draft beers. A suggested $10 contribution is requested from those who attend.

"I hope people will come just as we start at 6:30 p.m., buy a sandwich and a beer and settle in for a great evening," Sharon West, president of the market board, said in the announcement.

The Ransom Band plays rock, blues, folk, funk, country and groove music, originals as well as covers, according to the group's Facebook page.

Parking is available in the bar's small lot, on the street and in the parking lots of nearby businesses after business hours.

The Clintonville Farmers Market runs from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday through Nov. 19, and 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Sept. 28, along North High Street between Orchard Lane and West Dunedin Road.
