Player of Week
Otterbein junior Katy Miller, a Delaware graduate, was named the OAC women's basketball Player of the Week.
She had 19 points and nine rebounds in an 83-73 win over Wilmington on Jan. 14 and 14 points and 11 rebounds in a 73-57 loss to Capital on Jan. 17.
In the two games combined Miller went 14-for-23 from the field and 2-for-4 from 3-point range.
OWU to win
Senior Kyle Miller, a Delaware graduate, helped the Ohio Wesleyan men's basketball team defeat Denison 85-60 on Jan. 7. Miller led the team with 17 points and four assists.
games to be free
The Ohio Wesleyan athletic department has announced that admission to all home games for the men's and women's basketball teams this season will be free.
All home basketball games will be played in Branch Rickey Arena located at 105 S. Sandusky St. A complete schedule for both teams can be found at bishops.owu.edu/winske.html.
Delaware is selling athletics season passes for all high school and middle-school athletics events. The passes must be purchased in the high school athletics department office between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Veteran fast-pitch umpire Jim Wharton and a staff of instructors will conduct an OHSAA-approve softball umpire class. The class starts Feb. 4 and runs eight consecutive Wednesdays at Westerville South. Upon completion of course studies and passing a two-part test on the final day, students will attain an OHSAA license for high school fast-pitch softball and then can pay a fee to secure an ASA umpiring license.
