Santa breakfast is
free, fun, filling
Sunbury United Methodist Church will host its sixth annual Breakfast with Santa from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5.

According to an e-mail message from SUMC, the goal of the free event is "to touch hearts with a generous, abundant message of God's love."

The breakfast "gives families a place to affirm their Christian teachings while celebrating Christmas in a fun, festive atmosphere," according to the e-mail. Reindeer Games will be played throughout the church, including the Christmas Gift Game, Santa's Wreath Toss, the Penguin Shuffle, to the Peppermint Post, Make Your Own Antlers craft and the Reindeer Obstacle Training Course. Children may visit the Letter to Santa station as well as the Bethlehem Inn and Bethlehem Dress Up, a child-size Nativity photo opportunity for which children can dress as characters in the Christmas story. (Bring the camera!)

In the sanctuary, Christmas carols will be sung and performers from the Central College Presbyterian Church Youth Puppet Ministry will offer entertainment. A model train provided by train enthusiast Art Lofton will be in the church parlor.

Breakfast will be scrambled eggs, sausage, cinnamon biscuits, cookies, cakes and other Christmas treats with milk, juice and coffee.

Each family receives a visit and a professional photograph with Santa on his living room sofa next to a 16-foot Christmas tree.

Neither church membership nor registration is required.
