The Delaware County Sheriff's Office has announced it has intensified traffic enforcement for the holidays. Christmas and New Year's is peak season for drunk or impaired driving.

Thanks to a grant from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office, sheriff's deputies will be more visible on Delaware County roads. Special emphasis will be placed on drunken driving, speeding and seatbelt use. The enforcement will continue through Jan. 4.

The grant will pay for overtime costs associated with the increased patrols.
