Kids Wellness, 6:45 to 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, May 3. For children ages 5 to 10. Twenty minutes each of exercise, nutrition issues and self-confidence. Cost is $6 per participant.

"Gentle Yoga," 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesdays, May 4, 11 and 18. Also called "chair yoga," for students who have difficulty getting down on the floor or who prefer to practice yoga while seated. For teens and adults. Instructor is Leslie Meyers. Cost is $5 per class.

First Thursday book club, 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 5. "My Life in France," by Julia Child. Book for Thursday, June 2, is "On Writing," by Stephen King. Book list for 2011 is available.

Lego Club for children ages 5 to 8, Saturday, May 7. Choose one of two sessions: 9 to 10 a.m. or 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Lego Club for kids age 9 and up meets from 1 to 2 p.m.

Perkins Observatory Daytime Visit, 1 to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, May 14. Group outing to the observatory for children age 5 and up and their parents. Cost is $4 per person. Registration is required and closes on May 3.

Yoga for Beginners and Beyond, 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11 and Wednesday, May 18. Certified instructor Leslie Meyers will teach teens and adults. Cost is $5 per class. Registration is encouraged but not required.

Photography 101 for Teens and Adults, 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14 (every second Saturday). Techniques and tricks, along with cropping and composition, digital editing and photo sharing and other information. Bring a digital camera, its manual and a laptop if possible. Cost is $5 and registration is required.

Manga and Anime 101, 1 to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, May 14. Instructor Nancy Crawford will show how to draw Manga characters and landscapes. Laptops will be provided but bring one if you can. Cost is $5 and registration is required.

Budget Meals, 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, May 17. R.S.V.P. to (614) 550-6431. Powell nonprofit teaches those age 12 and up (12- to 15-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult) how to create a budget, shop, plan menus and prepare meals.
