Students who have completed their freshman, sophomore or junior year can apply for scholarships of $1,000 to $6,000 from the Ralph and Mabel Gooding Scholarship Fund.

In 2012, the Foundation awarded 59 Gooding scholarships for a total of more than $114,000.

The application deadline for DCF scholarships is Monday, June 10. Applicants must be Delaware County residents who graduated from the Big Walnut Local School District, the Buckeye Valley Local School District, the Delaware City School District or the Olentangy Local School District after attending the school for four years. Candidates must have been county residents when they graduated from high school.

Applicants must be enrolled full time in a bachelor's or associate degree program and have a grade point average of at least 2.5.

A second scholarship opportunity is for students studying agriculture, preferably at the Ohio State University. A scholarship will be awarded to a college sophomore, junior or senior with a GPA of at least 2.5 who graduated after attending a public or private high school in Delaware or Morrow county. The scholarship is in memory of Donald F. and Ruby A. Westbrook.
