The vouchers allow these residents to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs, baked goods, honey and food-bearing plants at farmers' markets in Delaware, Sunbury and Powell.

Participants who register before Sept. 1, will receive 25 vouchers with a total value of $50. Those who sign up after Sept. 1, will receive 15 vouchers with a total value of $30. All vouchers are valid through Oct. 31. (Some farmers' markets may close for the season before that date; participants should check with the markets, as closing dates differ.)

The vouchers are valid for use at the Main Street Delaware market on North Sandusky Street in Delaware; the Original Delaware Farmers Market at the Delaware County Fairgrounds' grandstand; the Sunbury/Big Walnut Farmers' Market on the Square; Downtown Powell Farmers' Market in the 15 E. Olentangy St. parking lot; and new this year, the Delaware Community Market at 222 E. William St., open from noon to 3 p.m. on Sundays.

Vouchers are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the Center for Older Adults, 800 Cheshire Road, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Applications also are available at growingolder. org/latest-news/farmers-market-voucher-program. After June 1, vouchers will be available at each farmers market as well.

Certain income restrictions apply. Homebound older adults can select a representative to pick up a voucher and make purchases at farmers markets.

The Council for Older Adults' Senior Farmers' Market Voucher Program is funded by the Delaware County Senior Services levy.
