The National Association of Letter Carriers, in partnership with the U.S. Postal Service, conducted the annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive on May 11. Delaware County postal carriers delivered more than one and a half tons of food to People in Need of Delaware County.

The food -- a total of 3,173 pounds -- was donated by people on the carriers' routes and delivered to PIN in Postal Service trucks. PIN Executive Director Kevin James Crowley was quoted in a news release as saying the donation "is a vital shot in the arm for our pantry."
